Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy in North America) was published in September 2005 on Playstation 2, X-Box and PC by Atari. The game jumped at the top of the sales charts in many countries and on all three platforms for several weeks when released. It has since sold in excess of 700 000 units worldwide.
Fahrenheit was the best internationally reviewed adventure game of all times on Playstation 2 and X-Box and only second to LucasArts’ Grim Fandango on PC, released in 1999.
Fahrenheit won an impressive amount of international and national awards for Best Game of the Year (PS2 or X-Box), Best Adventure Game of the Year (all platforms) or best Story in a Game. It was runner up for Most Innovative Game at the E3 Game Critics Choice Award and won the Game Convention’s Most Innovative Game of the Year Award as well as the Best New PC IP Develop Excellence Award for 2005.
